Lion Air Plane Skids off Runway at Pontianak Airport

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A Lion Air plane reportedly skidded off a runway at Pontianak’s Supadio Airport, Kalimantan, allegedly due to heavy rain.
"The plane was trying to land from Jakarta during heavy rain. We're evaluating the cause," said director-general of transportation ministry Polana when contacted on Saturday, Feb. 16.
The incident occurred at 08:10 local time. The Lion Air's Boeing 737-800NG plane skidded off the runway for one meter as it was trying to land at Supadio International Airport.
Polana said all the passengers and crews onboard of Lion Air B737-800NG are safe and have been evacuated.
